NaNoWriMo Vlog – I’m Falling Apart!!!

Title of the post pretty much explains it all. I think I jumped on the NaNoWriMo bandwagon too quickly. Didn’t have a plan or an approach in mind upon starting. Note for next year! Have an idea before leaping in.

Hope you enjoy!

  1. Hi Bre,

I wouldn’t stress too much about it. I think it’s hard to come at it with little to no planning. Do you follow Kristen Lamb’s blog? She has three or four posts on planning for NaNoWriMo that discuss strategies for making the most of the month. Here’s a link to one of the posts:

Like you, I was planning to participate and start on the second story in my series. I want all three or four stories in the series to work together and embellish or elaborate on what was found in previous books, while foreshadowing upcoming issues. This, of course, would require a fair amount of planning and brainstorming, especially with all the historical elements, just like with your books.

Sadly, I wasn’t able to carve out time for this prep work, so I made the decision not to participate this year. I just didn’t feel ready and didn’t want to end up with 50,000 completely useless words.

I think you’ll end up doing what is right for your story, if it’s not feeling right, maybe it isn’t?

Good luck and keep us posted!

    • You are so sweet. Thank you for your kind words.

I will definitely check out Kristen Lamb’s blog. I have not heard of her. And I could definitely use some advice about planning for NaNoWriMo.

I am trying to write a little bit today and plan to vlog again later. I decided that I would never really be ‘ready’ so to speak and if I wait to be ready, I won’t come up with anything. And after looking over it, I actually do like a few bits and pieces of what I have written. I hope that I get a little bit of clarification in my direction from this in the next few days.

I hope you can do NaNoWriMo next year. Maybe we can hold each other’s hands through it as we do it together next time around.
